Welcometo the Wait4God's Best blog. I'm writing this blog with the hopes of encouraging teens, singles, men, and women to live a life of purity. I know that practicing abstinence is not easy. For 34 years, I practiced abstinence, and had times in my life where I thought of just giving in out of frustration and impatience. I give God all the glory for keeping me. I am so happy to say that I've been married for over a year to a wonderful man of God. In keeping with the theme of my book, My Husband bought the whole Cow! Be encouraged and wait for God's Best!

It really is hard saving yourself sometimes but when I look around at all of the young women around me that could have saved so much hassle in their lives by waiting for the right man to come, it's not so hard to wait anymore. I love God with all my heart and I remind myself that the reason He's advised us to wait for marriage is to save US from the heartbreak. I believe the ultimate sign of a Godly man is how he treats the women in his life. Of course we don't want a man that's totally attached to his mom but if he treats her with respect, it's almost a sure sign that he'll treat me with respect. Of course as it's already been stated, if he really loves and cares for me but most importantly, the word of God, he'll wait until we're married for sex. Sex is ordained by God but only for those who've made the committment in the sight of Him to stay committed. A man that is willing to honor that committment is one that I'd definitely consider for a spouse. Being young and single, it can frustrating when it seems like the right person just won't come your way but when we rush into things because we're impatient is when we find ourselves in regret and disappointment. After all, Isaiah 40:31 does say "they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up on wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint." And Proverbs 31:10-11 says: "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil." In summary, those verses teach us that if we are patient and just wait for the Lord to bring our desires (a mate specifically in this case) to pass then even when we feel like we're at wits end, he'll strengthen us and keep us (saving ourselves for marriage) and my favorite lesson in Proverbs 31 is that even in today's time, a man will look for a woman that is "untouched" and someone he can trust not to share what he's purchased with everyone else. Be strong in the Lord and be blessed!
